Faculty and students of Sojourner-Douglass
College formed a chapter of Sigma Beta Delta to confer on students
international recognition for outstanding academic achievements in the
study of business, management, or administration.
Zeta Phi Beta
This sorority focuses on voluntary service to educate
the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities
and promote legislation for social and civic change.
Zeta's national and local programs include endowment
of its National Educational Foundation, community outreach services and support
of multiple affiliate organizations. Zeta chapters and auxiliary groups have given untotaled hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth,
provide scholarships, support organized charities and promote legislation for
social and civic change.
The International Student Association was organized to:
(1) promote academic excellence among international students; (2) provide an organization
through which international students' experiences and common problems can be considered
and exchanged; and (3) promote fellowship among foreign and American students at the College
and bring them together for discussion, tours and other activities.
Membership in the Association is open to all foreign students at Sojourner
Douglass College. Association membership affords students a broader understanding of the
cultural and political differences between countries and a more comprehensive picture of the world.
Students wishing information about the International Student Association may
contact the Vice President of Academic Affairs/ Provost or the assistant Dean of
Academic Affairs.
All students (excluding students with transient or interim status)
pay an activity fee and are members of the Student Government Association.
They are encouraged to participate in the Association activities.
The Student Government Association oversees the activities
and development of special interest groups on campus and takes major responsibility for
planning campus wide socio cultural events. The Student Government Association acts as a
liaison group between the student and administration in matters of academic conduct and
acts in an advisory capacity in arranging the budget for the activities program.
