Sojourner-Douglass College's 2008 Ifetayo Celebration was a beautiful night to remember. The S-DC students, faculty, staff and family turned out in their full cultural regalia and formal
majesty to celebrate their brotherly love.
This year's event was held on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum and was very well attended. The event, now in its 26th year, was a fabulous celebration of the African Diaspora, through scrumptious food, resounding music and glorious ceremony.
As has become the tradition of the Ifetayo Celebration, the 2008 Sojourner-Douglass College
Pharaoh King and Queen were named and crowned by the College President, Charles W. Simmons. The
Pharaoh King and Queen will hold their throne for the next year and will serve as upstanding cultural and moral representatives of Sojourner-Douglass, its community and principles.
