My name is Tracey Price, and I am
the President of the Alumni Association. I have reviewed the By-Laws and I understand and accept the responsibilities associated with this position.
I am a 2006 graduate of the college. I have held several leadership positions from Unit Coordinator at an HMO to a lead teacher. I possess the skills necessary to motivate others and am not afraid of a challenge. I have been a volunteer with several educational organizations working with children and illiterate adults.
I possess innovation and am a team player. A true leader understands success is not achieved by one’s own merit. A leader facilitates group empowerment and demonstrates how to create group synergy by keeping sight of the group’s vision and goals, and by empowering its members in shared decision-making.
A primary and necessary goal of the Alumni Association is to increase the number of active, paying members in order to allow the association to give back to the college and the community. Sojourner-Douglass College has a beautiful legacy that we must ensure stays intact. A powerful alumni association has the ability to generate funds towards improving the aesthetics of the grounds and providing scholarships to needy students. Through our collective resources we can girth up the foundation of this college and preserve its longevity.
