Admissions by transfer from other accredited colleges may be arranged through
the Office of Admissions. Transfer applicants must submit their official
transcripts of all work completed at other colleges. Previous college work
must be equivalent to at least C, or a cumulative average of 2.0. Grades less
than C, in any course, cannot be accepted for transfer credit. Exemption from the
preceding requirements may be granted on an individual basis by the Vice President
of Academic Affairs/Provost; however, in no case shall transfer
credit be allowed for courses in which a grade less than C was earned. Credits
will be transferred only for those courses which fulfill requirements for degree
programs at Sojourner Douglass College.
Students who have taken College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests
administered by the College Entrance Examination Board may obtain college
credit at Sojourner Douglass College if their CLEP test scores are satisfactory.
All test scores must be submitted to the Registrar's Office.
All applicants for advance standing or transfer credits must meet the
requirements for admission as outlined under Admissions and Application Procedures.
A maximum of eighty seven (87) credits may be accepted in transfer from a four
year institution. Credits transferred from a two year college may not exceed 70
credits, and are limited or applicable to the first two years of the undergraduate
educational experience.
